What is Bonfire?

"If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.'"

A new beginning

Bonfire is a ministry set on reaching skateboarders for Jesus Christ. We meet with skateboarders around the United States to show them there is more than just this life, and ultimately the board will snap… so where then do you turn?

The Mission

The goal of Bonfire is to reach lost skateboarders with the love of Jesus. We go to skateparks, skate spots, or anywhere people are shredding and just hang out and spread some love to local skaters. It really is as simple as that.

We don't claim to be perfect or know everything, we just love God and love the skateboarding community, and want to introduce skaters to the love of Jesus. We are bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to skateboarders who have been sold the lies of this world. We are in the business of sowing seeds, we may not see all the watering or growth or harvest, but there is power in a seed:

Luke 13:18-19
He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”

God is in the business of taking this small seed and doing extraordinary things with it. So we will be faithful in the sowing of these seeds.

Meet the Bonfire Team

Zach

Zach started skateboarding when he was only 7 years old in Mammoth Lakes, California. Most of his life, however, has been spent in the small town of Belgrade, Montana. Outside of skateboarding, Zach likes to snowboard, shoot archery, fish, and play soccer.

“When I was seeking for greater clarity and direction for this ministry, God showed me a dream involving a bonfire being rekindled. He also pointed me to Jeremiah 20:9 'If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.'

This verse and this dream inspired the name of bonfire and the goal of fanning my own bonfire into flame so I may spread that fire to others who will then take up this same mantle.”
